This was my wife's absolute favorite song. I sang it to her on her our wedding day and again the day of her funeral. Listening to it is a bit like a quick visit with her again.

One of those instances where the cover is better than the original. Up there with Cash's "Hurt" and Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower".

My oldest daughter Ellyson passed away suddenly this past February from an ectopic pregnancy. She was a very free spirit. The summer before she passed she texted me a link to this video. This song perfectly encapsulates her spirit and the love she embodied. Thank you

we had the opportunity to hear Archie at Sally's house party in Berkeley a decade or so ago. He is wonderful. His sister, Ray is also a heck of a Scots singer and I recommend this song and her song called Willie's Fatal Ride guitar acc. by Martin Carthy.
